ABOUT OUR CERAMIC WORKSHOPS
Clay is such a versatile medium to work in. It can be used in many different ways to give a range of tactile and practical experiences - we use soft or 'leather hard' clay for modelling and hand-building and wet, slippery clay for throwing on the potters wheel - liquid clay 'slips' are used for painting and also for casting into plaster-of-paris moulds, some of which we also make on site.
We have a slab-rolling machine, a clay extruder, two kilns and five electric wheels, one of which is adjustable for wheelchair users.
And we recycle the clay too - it's all very hands-on!
