WANDLE INDUSTRIAL MUSEUM VISIT

Mick Taylor and friends from the Wandle Industrial Museum came and gave a series of workshops where just about everybody had a go at wood block printing following the techniques employed by William Morris. William Morris famously had his workshops at Merton Abbey Mills which is located on the River Wandle and which is just a short distance away from where we are situated. We all got to learn something about the history of the process and had a fabric print or two to take home as a reminder of a lovely day!

We are doing quite a lot of printing at the workshop at the moment - screen-printing and card and paper resist techniques onto paper. We are also employing printing techniques onto clay and have made some wonderful tiles and tesserae for mosaic mirror frames - come along to our Winter Event on Friday 25th November to see and buy from a range of totally unique work!
